Send Your Prayers to The Western Wall in Jerusalem -- “Now there’s an App for that!”

By Michael Ireland
Senior International Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

JERUSALEM (ANS) -- The Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City, is the holiest place on earth to Jews. Also known as the Kotel and Wailing Wall, it is the last remaining wall of the Jewish Temple which was destroyed in the year 70 CE, almost 2,000 years ago.

Jews have continually seen this wall as holy and have continued to pray there ever-since.

Since the re-unification of Jerusalem by Israel in 1967, the Western Wall has become a major attraction for visitors to Israel, Jewish and non-Jewish who walk up to the wall to pray or undertake the custom of placing a prayer within a crack in the wall.

www.TouristIsrael.com  says that, “With the help of our friends at The Kotel, people around the world are able to send their prayers to the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

“Now, as well as taking prayers through Twitter and via Tourist Israel, you can send their own short prayer to Jerusalem with a free Android or iPhone app. All prayers are printed and carefully placed within the cracks of the Western Wall as in this custom.”
