SEVEN DAYS IN UTOPIA Is The #1 Christian Film in America!

Hollywood, CA—The major motion picture SEVEN DAYS IN UTOPIA is the #1 Christian movie in America. First released on September 2, Christians turned out in support of the film across the country. With its "G" rating and A-level talent (Academy Award winners Robert Duvall and Melissa Leo and Lucas Black), not only does the film fill the void of great family entertainment but also fills the void in people's hearts and minds for movies with a transformational message.

Dr. David Cook, the author of the book the film is based on as well as the film's producer and co-screenwriter, stated, "I never intended that my book would spur on a ministry and bring people to Christ. But it did. And I never imagined that the film would bring people to Christ. But it has. I am humbled that people have connected to the story in a way that has not been seen before. I pray that the good word-of-mouth will allow others to benefit from the message to reinforce their beliefs or to begin their own journey with Christ for the very first time."

Visio Entertainment chief Dennis Rice continues, "We are thrilled with the way this picture is performing across the country. We saw steady growth throughout the opening weekend with increases occurring each day, including an unprecedented growth from Sunday to Labor Day Monday. What's more, the film's ending is making a significant impact with audiences. To date, it has driven over 250,000 people to take the next step in their lives."
Faith leaders from across the country agree...
"An inspirational movie about God's mysterious ways and how significance will always trump success. I encourage you to see the movie!"
Jim Daly, President, Focus on the Family
"This movie will help you take the biggest handicap any of us has in our lives—our sin and rebellion against God—and completely eliminate it and make it 'scratch'. This is one of the finest movies you will find on any subject—Seven Days In Utopia. The good news is that this movie is rated 'G'- and it is being used as a powerful instrument for Jesus Christ. This movie is an evangelistic tool that will thrill and amaze you. I encourage every pastor in America to tell their congregations about it".
Dr. Ed Young, Second Baptist Church

ABOUT THE FILM
Life is never the same once you've been to Utopia.

Opened on September 2, 1011 from the best-selling novel that inspired people around the globe and starring Academy Award® winner Robert Duvall reunited for a third time with Lucas Black (following their acclaimed pairing in SLING BLADE and GET LOW), comes SEVEN DAYS IN UTOPIA, the heart-stirring tale of how an unlikely but powerful friendship sparks a young man's life-altering week of transformation.

Down-and-out golfer Luke Chisholm (Black) is about to take a detour into an enchanting small town and an incredible camaraderie that will become a game-changer in more ways than he could ever imagine. It all begins with a major, mid-tournament meltdown, just as Luke is supposed to be making his big breakthrough to the pro tour. In a blowup so embarrassing it spurs news headlines, Luke drives his father/coach to abandon him, and seemingly squanders his promising career. But when he heads out onto the Texas back-roads to blow off some steam, Luke instead blows right through the pasture fence of eccentric rancher Johnny Crawford (Duvall)—and finds himself stranded smack in the middle of the tiny, unsung town of Utopia . . . which will have an impact far greater than the sum of its parts. Just as it looks like Luke's day couldn't get any worse, Johnny offers him an implausible but irresistible deal: spend the next seven days in Utopia and see if it doesn't change his life's course entirely. The next thing he knows, Luke is being lured into a wild summer adventure of dodging rodeo bulls, piloting airplanes and fishing in untamed rivers. It seems like a good old time, which Luke could certainly use, but woven through the fun comes Johnny's hard-won personal lessons about heart, faith and why becoming who you were meant to be has nothing to do with winning, and everything to do with how you approach the game.

After searching in Utopia for a lot of things—reconciliation, redemption, romantic love and a better drive off the tee—Luke is ready take a chance on his last shot at a pro career. Only this time he's equipped with the one thing that really matters: a sense of higher purpose he's ready to put into play. Drawn to the film's themes of community, family and mentorship, a stellar supporting cast joins Duvall and Black, including Deborah Ann Woll (HBO's TRUE BLOOD), Brian Geraghty (THE HURT LOCKER) and Academy Award® winner Melissa Leo (THE FIGHTER, FROZEN RIVER). The film is also the first to receive the full participation of the professional golf world, with a key role taken by golf legend K.J. Choi, and support from PGA of America and the Calloway PGA Tour. It not only features a moving human drama but some of the most authentic golf action yet seen on the screen.

SEVEN DAYS IN UTOPIA is rated "G" and directed by Matt Russell from a screenplay by Russell, David L. Cook and Rob Levine based on the book and story by David L. Cook. The producers are Mark G. Mathis and Jason Michael Berman.
