Pastor: 'God Wants Ron Paul to Be President' -- Nebraska Delegates Should Obey God

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 11, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- "God wants Ron Paul to be President. Paul is the only Christian still running who beat Obama in polls, but will Christians and pastors obey God?" says Pastor Steven Andrew, president of USA Christian Ministries.Article here.

"We must obey God and vote for Christians. Noah Webster used Exodus 18:21 to teach voting. John Jay said 'select and prefer Christians for [our] leaders.' (Mark 12:30, Psalm 1:1, Psalm 33:12).

"Comparing Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, we see Paul will cut the deficit $1 trillion in year one, but Obama and Romney would increase the deficit. Americans will have more jobs with Paul," says the pastor.

"Christians follow Jesus. We aren't right or left. The left isn't following God. Obama says to leave living babies to die who survive botched abortions, covers Jesus' name and cross at Georgetown, fights unjust wars that result in Muslims persecuting Christians, and mocks God and our Founding Fathers' Christian laws," he adds.

"The right isn't following God with Mitt Romney. Jesus Christ is the second Person of the Godhead, but Romney as a Mormon thinks: Jesus is a created being, the spirit brother of Lucifer; men become Gods and Christians are inferior people. Christians know Mormonism is Satanic," he adds.

"God warns Romney and Obama are 'accursed' in Galatians 1:9. Who would vote for someone accursed and bring God's judgment (2Chronicles 19:2)? Also, Romney and Obama oppose the Constitution and want to put Americans in prison without a trial with NDAA," he explains.

The Nebraska delegates are deciding between Paul and Romney Saturday. The pastor believes Republican delegates should obey God and choose Paul.

He explains that Christians and Libertarians agree that Christian Ron Paul is the best person to be President. The Christian vote is what will get Paul elected.

He believes that pastors and denominations silent on Obama's and Romney's sins is why there is corruption in government (Ezekiel 22:26-27). He has called July "Repent of non-Christians Romney and Obama Month” and calls pastors to speak truthfully. Learn more.
"Will you pray, 'Father, who do you want for President? In Jesus' name. Amen.' When I prayed God told me, 'Of the three, I want Ron Paul.' It matches Scripture."

"If the Republican Party doesn't nominate Ron Paul, then Christians should join the Constitution party and vote for Virgil Goode," he continues.

"Do you want someone with the Holy Spirit in the White House? Paul is going to seek the LORD for the USA. Romney and Obama are deceived and would seek Satan because they refuse to make Jesus Lord," he says.

He also calls Christians to "7 Months of National Repentance to Save the USA" from July to January. Learn more. His book "Making A Strong Christian Nation" gives God's answers to the 'The Harbinger' book.

Pastor Steven Andrew needs 30,000 faithful Christians as partners to help him with the finances to organize 1000 pastors to pastor the USA, advertising and to reach youth and adults for Christ. Sign up here.

Galilee Travel: Touring beyond Mount Tabor

By Elisa Moed, Founder and CEO of www.Travelujah.com
Special ASSIST News Service

MOUNT TABOR, ISRAEL (ANS) -- Many Christians traveling on a Holy Land tour are so busy being shuttled on and off buses they often miss the unique experiences and special sites revered by locals and seasoned travelers alike.

Mount Tabor
The area around Mount Tabor is a perfect example.

With its important Franciscan and Greek Orthodox shrines situated at its summit over 1,640 feet above sea level, Mount Tabor is considered a “must see” site for Christians coming on a Holy Land pilgrimage seeking to visit the site where many believe Jesus was transfigured as he spoke to Moses and Elijah in the presence of three of his disciples (Luke 9:28-36).

However, what first time tour leaders and many travelers don't often know is that the brief visit to the shrines at the top of Mount Tabor can eat up at least 2 hours or more. Why? Because tour buses are not allowed to travel up the narrow road to the peak and passengers must disembark at the bottom and be shuttled up by eager taxi drivers waiting for the next fare. Should you be there when it is busy, this procedure can take a significant amount of time. Factor in the obligatory shopping experience on site (you'll get a taxi faster if you buy more) the visit can extend to a few hours.

So, maybe perhaps you are interested in an alternative?

What to see around Mount Tabor

The area surrounding Mount Tabor has much to offer and is revered by locals for its many sites, geography, culture, wine and more.

The nearby village of Kfar Tabor is a small agricultural moshav (community) just five minutes from Mount Tabor, founded in 1901 by 28 farming families with the support of Baron Rothschild, the great philanthropist who helped found a number of pre-state communities, including Rosh Pina, Zichron Yaacov and others. For years the small village was home to the Hashomer movement and a small museum in the village traces this movement and its early participants. The museum documents the residents realized a dream and created a homeland.

The Tabor Winery is situated in Kfar Tabor and offers a story of rebirth. Kfar Tavor’s farmers for years grew grapes for the wineries of Israel in the hopes that one day they might have their own production facility. The dream finally came true in 1999 when a few families decided to create their own winery. Their wine became quickly successful and now produces 1.5 million bottles. The winery offers on site visits and wine tasting while the adjacent Marzipan museum includes a film depicting the marzipan - making process. Visitors can enjoy the unique display of marzipan on premises as well as the adjacent store. Marzipan workshops, suitable for all ages are also available.

Kfar Tabor Winery - Open Sunday through Thursday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Tel 011-972 (0)4-6760444.

Marzipan Museum Visiting hours: Sun - Thu 09:00 - 17:00 Fridays and holiday eves 09:00 - 16:00 Saturday & holidays 10:00 - 17:00 Tel: 011-972 (0) 4-677-2111.

Next to Kfar Tabor is the Circassian community of Kfar Cama, which is a worthy stop for travelers. The Circassian Museum is situated in a traditional basalt home and offers insight into their unique culture including their traditions and lifestyle and their contributions to the state of Israel. A village tour can include wonderful lunch hospitality as well as a tour of the historic homes and stories of the original settlers. . Unlike other Moslems, the Circassians serve in Israel's Defense Forces. Originally Christians, they converted to Islam when they encountered the Tatars and Turks along the silk route. Their original name, however, is Adigai, which means noble. The Circassians were exiled to Ottoman Turkish areas after the war against the Russian Empire.

At the village of Shibli, located at the base of Mount Tabor, you'll find a very modest but charming Center of Bedouin Heritage (011-972 (0) 4-676-7875). It's open Saturday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm; admission is NIS 12 ($3US/£1.50UK).

Kibbutz Ein Dor is the site of the Biblical town of Ein Dor, and consequently a lot of ancient activity occurred there. The kibbutz's archaeology museum displays significant pre-historic findings alongside many changing exhibitions and activities, ancient handicrafts which passed from the world, creation in natural materials, and more. Much of the exhibition is suitable for children as well as adults.

If the biblical foods grown in Israel are of interest the area of Mount Tabor is rich in agriculture. Reuven Birgir is one of Israel's foremost experts in growing olive and almond trees, and a key figure in Israel’s olive oil industry. In his farm in Kfar Kish, adjacent to Kfar Tabor, he grows olives, almonds and wine grapes.

Bullying Awareness Inspires Christian Artist to Action and Facebook Fan Page Explodes

Don Ward

PHILADELPHIA, June 5, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Don Ward, a Christian music artist, on the Favor of God Property Records label, believes he was God inspired to bring more awareness to the ever increasing crisis of bullying. Judging from the number of fans that "Liked" his Facebook Fan Page -- over six thousand in less than 48 hours -- this is a hot topic that not even Mr. Ward envisioned would explode like this.

"My desire was to simply do my small part of bringing awareness to the crisis of bullying, especially among our young people in schools, by using my God-given musical gifts to enlighten my audience. I never imagined that it would blow up on our Facebook Fan Page with thousands of fans worldwide in a few hours", Don Ward said recently.

Mr. Ward was also motivated to help in the bullying awareness campaign by some startlingly statistics he recently became aware of. Such as:
  • 77% of School bullying happens by way of mental or verbal abuse.

  • About 80% of all high school students have encountered some form of cyber bullying on line

  • Cyber Bullying has become one of the most prevalent ways of bullying among teens
"I had to do something. I still have lots of friends, family members, and fans who are affected directly or indirectly by this bullying crisis", said Mr. Ward.

One of the things Mr. Ward is doing is using his music videos and inserting messages into them about bullying to create awareness. "It is not too often that a music artist will sacrifice the artistic side of a music video, by inserting public campaigns messages right in the middle of the video" said Pastor David Wright, CEO of DoersTV.com, the largest internet Christian TV Network in the world, who will be airing Don Ward's "All About You" world premier video Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 8:00 pm on DoersTV Live.

"I believe with the wave of social media opportunities such as Facebook and innovative TV networks and records labels like DoersTV and Favor of God Property Records, all artists, especially Christian artists, can and should bring awareness to this crisis of bullying. After all, we are talking about our children", said Mr. Ward.

Olympic star Lolo Jones stands firm on virginity

Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones created a buzz when she told the world on an HBO talk show that at age 29 she's a Christian, a virgin and delaying sex until marriage, Baptist Press reports. Her revelation on "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" quickly made headlines and circulated on social media, with some noting similarities to New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow. With three NCAA titles and 11 All-American wins, Jones hopes to qualify for this year's Olympics after a disappointing 7th-place finish in the women's 100M hurdles at the 2008 games in Beijing -- but says her hardest challenge is remaining a virgin and finding someone to date. "The journey has been hard," she said on NBC's Today show. "Harder than training for the Olympics, harder than graduating from college, has been to stay a virgin before marriage. It's just something, a gift I want to give my husband. ... I've had guys tell me, 'Hey, you know, if you have sex it will help you run faster.' ... I'd like to be married. If you marry me, then yeah." Jones grew up in poverty, often homeless, and said she wants to enjoy the commitment that her parents -- who never married -- didn't have.

Planned Parenthood: Obama 'has our back' and gets our vote

Saying Barack Obama has "stood with Planned Parenthood time and again when it mattered most," the Planned Parenthood Action Fund has formally endorsed the president, OneNewsNow.com reports. "Since taking the oath of office, President Obama has been a champion of women's health, working to expand women's access to affordable, quality care," PPAF said. "He's done more for women's health than any president in history. ... The stakes for women have never been higher than they are in this election and the contrast between President Obama and Mitt Romney couldn't be starker. That's why Planned Parenthood Action Fund is proud to be standing with the president and endorsing his bid for re-election." In a video endorsement, PPAF president Cecile Richards attacked Romney, describing him as "out-of-touch" and reassuring Planned Parenthood supporters that Obama "has our back."

California Senate Approves Bill Banning Gay Conversion Therapy for Minors

The California state Senate voted last week to ban parents from seeking professional counseling for their children with the goal of preventing them from becoming homosexual, CNSNews.com reports. SB 1172 states that "under no circumstances shall a patient under 18 years of age undergo sexual orientation change efforts, regardless of the willingness of a patient's parent, guardian, conservator or other person to authorize such efforts." Dr. Paul Cameron of the Family Research Institute said: "Sexual activities and sexual preference, especially in the case of children, can be modified and changed. It is ethically wrong to prohibit parents from seeking and receiving professional assistance to help their own children with serious problems like this. The way to protect young people from suicide is to tell them their innate worth and their personal responsibility to make healthy choices, not tell them they have no choice, which depresses individuals struggling with sexual identity." Randy Thomasson, president of the pro-family group SaveCalifornia.com, added that the bill would "withhold emotional, mental and physical help from a child who has been raped or molested, who, as a result of this physical and emotional exploitation, is confused about his or her sexual identity."

New Book Chronicles Political Engagement of America's Largest Mainline Denomination

WASHINGTON, Feb. 13, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- America's largest mainline denomination has frequently been at the center of major political battles in the past century, but that public role -- as well as that of any church's political history -- has never before been the singular focus of a book.

Mark Tooley, president of the Institute on Religion and Democracy, has in Methodism and Politics in the Twentieth Century: From William McKinley to 9/11, produced the first thorough treatment of the political activities of the Methodists in the modern period.

A fact-based report with extensive references, Methodism and Politics in the Twentieth Century allows the players to speak for themselves on prohibition, war, abortion, marriage and many other issues. As a chronicle of Methodist political positions, this book will fascinate, encourage and frustrate the reader, depending upon his or her own views, but never bore.

The book is crucial to understanding the important United Methodist Church General Conference this year and more widely this election year to understanding how churches on left and right address politics. United Methodism has 7.8 million members in the U.S. and over 4 million outside the U.S., mostly in Africa.

The Institute on Religion & Democracy is making complementary copies available to active members of the media. Please contactmedia@TheIRD.org to obtain your review copy or to set up an interview with the author. The book debuts today with a 5:30 p.m. release event at IRD's Washington, D.C. offices.

What people are saying about "United Methodist Political History in the 20th Century":
"Demonstrating the skills of both a careful researcher and a gifted writer, Mark Tooley has crafted a lively narrative that chronicles the complex political engagement of Methodism with the United States from the early twentieth century to 9/11." -- Kenneth J. Collins, Ph.D., Professor of Historical Theology and Wesley Studies, Asbury Theological Seminary

"Tooley's work is important to Methodists who want to understand their denomination's decline and to Christians generally who want to trace what happens when we place trendy ideologies above God's word." -- Marvin Olasky, editor-in-chief, WORLD

"Mark Tooley is one of the best writers in religious journalism today. Great read. Immensely useful to those who want to understand how the mainline churches got where they are today." -- Thomas C. Oden, the Henry Anson Buttz Professor of Theology and Ethics, Drew University
